human rights meditations: week 10

A little something different today: instead of presenting another creator's piece, I'd like to share some of the journalling I've been doing whilst contemplating this week's subject. I'd love for you to sketch and write as you make your way through this blog series—it's a wonderful way to think things through!
Welcome to Week 10 of Human Rights Meditations. Every week we examine an Article from the United Nation's Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Find out more about the series here.

This week we're examining Article 10 of the UDHR.

Article 10: All individuals possess equal entitlement to an impartial and transparent trial conducted by an autonomous and unbiased court, when resolving their legal entitlements, liabilities and any accusations of wrongdoing brought against them.

Study the article below multiple times and allow it to settle in (given its length, you might choose to divide it during your contemplation). During this reflection, think about these points:
· What image initially entered your thoughts?
· What was your reaction to the content?
· Consider your perception of yourself relative to those around you.
· Consider your views of the people in your environment.
· Consider your perspective on worldwide concerns.

Record your thoughts and place them somewhere visible during the week so you'll notice it regularly. This will encourage you to maintain your reflective practice! You could also jot down something memorable from this exercise.

Right then, let's start chatting! We'd love to hear what you reckon about each piece, the insights you're gaining about yourselves and the steps you're taking to align more closely with the Declaration. Remember, you can join the conversation in the comments section below, or head over to twitter and use this hashtag: #hrmlak

I've shared some of my reflections in the photo above— what's this article made you consider?
