You've probably come across Sarah around. She's an Australian media personality, journalist and content creator. Sarah previously edited Cosmopolitan magazine, presented the inaugural season of MasterChef Australia, now presents and created Foxtel's Lifestyle YOU, and regularly appears as a guest and substitute presenter on Channel 7′s Sunday Night, The Morning Show and Sunrise plus Ten Network's Good News Week and The Project.
What you may not realise is that several years back Sarah encountered unexpected health problems which prompted numerous attempts to discover a lifestyle suited to her circumstances. She reduced her tempo and recognised what wasn't serving her well. One of the "unhelpful" culprits was sugar— it affected her energy, temperament and focus. After exploring a few different approaches to "give it up", Sarah discovered a strategy that suited her.
This is where the I Quit Sugar ebook steps in. IQS offers an 8 week roadmap for eliminating sugar aimed at those caught on a similar sugar-fuelled-ride that Sarah experienced before she made her change. Here's what you should understand about the publication:
- IQS employs a compassionate and supportive approach. It's not designed to make you feel ashamed of yourself.
- This isn't a diet. It's about exploring a new eating pattern and establishing habits that work for your individual circumstances.
- You needn't be obsessed with doughnuts to benefit from cutting back. Although I consume plenty of "natural sugar", I've discovered I struggle without a touch of honey now and then. For me, IQS has meant restoring equilibrium and examining whether my food choices truly serve my body's needs. Everyone can reduce their sugar consumption.
- Should you attempt IQS, you'll be eliminating fruit temporarily as you cleanse and rebalance. I was initially anxious reading this, but after seven days without fruit, I'm noticing the advantages of adding more nuts and protein to my meals (rather than constantly reaching for sugary treats). Keep in mind: fruit returns later!
- It's not another Dr Atkins low carb/high protein diet, but it does encourage consuming more low GI foods.
- It can be followed on a vegetarian diet, though you do need to plan ahead! (this was my chief worry, but I've learnt: avoiding meat doesn't permit eating double the sugar!)
Sarah is giving away one copy of the I Quit Sugar ebook to a lucky reader, worth $15.
