I discovered this neat little "backyard chicken returns on investment calculator" through Tree Hugger some time ago and, now that we've got chickens, decided to try it out. I calculated that my typical yearly expenditure is around $37, and my yield will be roughly $110 (in egg value), giving me an overall "profit" each year of about $73... not too shabby for a couple of lovely feathered companions, is it?
