Shingles Update

Well, the shingles ordeal goes on... Though I must admit, an even greater worry is the isolation fatigue I've developed after being confined since last Friday. I miss physical contact and meaningful conversation, but regrettably for me, Kym never had chickenpox so he's keeping his distance, and my lovely mates can only tolerate so many sympathy get-togethers...

So, what have I been doing? Well, there's been plenty of tea, books, rubbish telly... I've also done some planting and been creating some new work.

I've picked up a few insights, too...
  1. I need to learn when to rest. Seriously, I do. After a day of feeling almost better, I went down to ikea for some prints and observing people. Once I finished I was knackered! It brought back something an acquaintance shared with me ages ago, which I truly should have followed: 'When you don't want to do anything, push yourself to do just one thing, and when you want to do everything, just stop".
  2. Roses should be trimmed back by 50% of their height and 50% of their branches. (Thanks, Gardening Australia).
  3. Women who go without bras in public shouldn't be judged or gawked at. They're just as aware as you are that their modesty is swinging and bouncing about, and besides, they could have shingles.
  4. The days feel endless, but the years are short, so savour every moment.
  5. There is more food in your pantry than you realise.
So tell me, what's going on in the outside world? This isolated person needs to know!
