Last week MarionLIFE Community Services hosted their second community market and I ran a stall alongside friends from a patchwork collective. The markets have expanded considerably since the inaugural event (held in Autumn earlier this year) and featured a wonderful selection of artwork, handcrafts, apparel, accessories and pre-loved items. There was live acoustic performance, people dressed as tomatoes and the finest samosas I've had in ages.
Our stall featured a collection of vintage garments & publications, partially completed patchwork pieces, textiles, accessories, embellished buttons and my own unique CD coasters (originally CD magnets, before I abandoned the magnetic concept). It felt great to clear out some of the publications that had simply gathered dust over recent years. The highlight of the day was spending time with mates and like-minded individuals whilst enjoying conversation and handiwork. Plus, the complimentary muffin from the lovely Winen sisters.
The following MarionLIFE community markets will be held on 9th April 2011. Mark it in your diary!
